The office of Jerry Bruno Productions is welcoming a new employee who is no stranger. Geoff Short, lead singer and bandleader of The Avenue, has joined our team as the new Sales & Promotion Manager. Geoff’s primary functions will be client and venue relations and entertainment booking. We’re sure his various skills will blossom out from there and he will be a wonderful asset to the office.
With over a decade of media sales experience and endless involvement in the entertainment industry, Geoff was a natural selection for the position. Geoff was performing and directing in musical groups and stage productions well before he began working with brides and corporate clients as part of The Avenue.
Geoff has worked in television; radio and print marketing and advertising; promotions, and online sales for over 15 years at stations like WGAR, WKNR, FOX and WKYC. In this capacity, he was responsible for developing the branding, communications and public relations campaigns of some of the biggest companies in the country including Wal-Mart, McDonald’s and the Cleveland Clinic. For WKYC, Geoff produced and co-hosted an Emmy nominated, on-air weekly segment. As an Advertising Manager at the Sun News, Geoff managed a team of Account Executives selling marketing and advertising packages throughout Northeast Ohio.
He currently is the President of the Board of Cassidy Theatre, Inc. in Parma Heights and also sits on the board of the Cooperative Alliance of Medina Entertainment Organizations (CAMEO). Geoff produces and hosts Call-Back, a weekly cable program seen Mondays at 10:30pm on Cox Cable 45, dedicated to Cleveland community theater.
Most recently Geoff was Director of Sales and Marketing for Bio-Safe, International – a pathology lab services company. But his heart lies in the world of entertainment, and the timing was perfect to utilize that passion at Jerry Bruno Productions.
“Jerry Bruno Productions is the best entertainment company in this region,” said Geoff. “After working with everyone at JBP over the last three years as the bandleader of The Avenue, and after a lifetime of working on stage and behind the scenes of the entertainment business, I’m excited and grateful for the opportunity to help bring some of the best entertainment of all kinds to even more people, companies and special events and help JBP continue to grow.”

Thank you to Fallon’s Photography for sending us these official photos from the fabulous event, Viva La Rock, at the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame. Viva La Rock was a private party put on for Cleveland businesses to get to know how great a venue the Rock Hall is for events. For the night’s entertainment, the Rock Hall asked Jerry Bruno Productions to produce the entire evening of musical entertainment.
On April 16th, the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame held a private event for Cleveland businesses to get to know the venue. Jerry Bruno Productions was honored to be a part of the evening, supplying all the music for the event.
“Viva La Rock” was MC’d by Cleveland resident Judson Laipply–most well-known for his YouTube video sensation, The Evolution of Dance— which he performed live! Jerry Bruno amassed an eclectic collection of talent to touch on all of rock’s roots and genres.
Among the evening’s performers were Joe Blues (guitar), Haywire (Rockabilly), The Rockin’ Ravers (60’s rock), and the Jerry Bruno Orchestra featuring, at various times, Sherena Wynn (motown), George Yunis (80’s rock), Lauren Dragon of RadioActive, and a surprise performance by Stevie Wonder!!! (OK, it was Fred Davis of The Orchestra, but he does a mean Stevie impression!)
Back stage, we even ran into last year’s American Idol runner-up, David Archuletta, who was touring the Rock Hall that day.
Thank you to the Rock Hall for putting on an amazing event, to all the businesses who came out to support our Rock N Roll Hall of Fame, and all the other vendors who helped put on such a rockin’ good time!
Jerry Bruno Productions will again donate live music to the Cleveland Chapter of the American Alzheimer’s Association for their annual benefit dinner.
The dinner takes place Thursday, April 30th at the Cleveland Marriott, Downtown at Key Center. Cocktails and Silent Auction begin at 5:30 pm; Dinner begins at 7 pm. Visit the Alzheimer’s Association web site for more information on reservations.
