Red Light Roxy
Red Light Roxy is a professional jazz band from Cleveland, Ohio that plays an upbeat mix of jazz standards, jump blues, swing, boogie-woogie and a dash of old-school R&B. Its repertoire comes from the American Song Book and includes familiar songs made famous by such legendary performers as Ella Fitzgerald, Ruth Brown, Peggy Lee, Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, and Louis Armstrong.
The group is led by vocalist Eileen Burns and saxophonist Dave Sterner, who are some of the area’s finest musicians. With thirty-plus years of performing, they bring a wealth of experience to every event. Eileen recently toured as the female vocalist with the world renowned Glenn Miller Orchestra throughout the United States, Canada and Japan. She is also an original cast member of the Midnight Martini Show at Cleveland’s own Pickwick & Frolic. Dave is a faculty member of the distinguished Cuyahoga Community College Jazz program and has performed with the Cleveland Jazz Orchestra, Ernie Krivda and the Fat Tuesday Big Band, and various touring shows in Cleveland.
Red Light Roxy has played at The TRI-C Jazz Festival, Akron’s LOCK IV, Wade Oval Wednesdays, Legacy Village and a variety of city summer concerts and swing dances. If you’re looking for an authentic experience and the music has got to be swingin’, it’s got to be Red Light Roxy.
