Q: My wedding is in December, 2008 and I booked a band through another agency (sorry!). Now I’m worried because the band doesn’t return my calls. What if they just don’t show up at my wedding?
Mary M.
A: First of all…next time book the band through us 🙂
Seriously though…I guess it’s a little late to be sure you always have a contact number that’s direct to the band leader. Even though we communicate with our brides through the entire process, we always supply contact info of the “go-to” person in the band.
Since you booked through an agency and they’re obviously not co-operating with you, I think it’s important to get a little demanding at this late date. Insist on a phone call or email from the responsible party. Demand a little attention. It’s part of the package and this is your big day, not just another gig for the band.
Remember your “ace in the hole:” This is a referral business and any reputable band, DJ, or agency will want to keep their client happy and saying only nice things about them. Don’t hesitate to mention all the people you know who might (or might have!) used their services in the future.
