Sophisticated Swing is the area’s newest 18 piece swing band. George Petrich has gathered a talented bunch of musicians from all parts of Northeastern Ohio. The band’s playlist features a long and varied selection of music, from the big bands of the great swing era to the more contemporary music from bands of the post-war era.
Sophisticated Swing is not just your average dance band. They do have a featured lead vocalist, the wonderful Marilyn Cordial, but don’t be surprised when other members of the band step out from behind their music to give you a treat at the microphone. Some pieces also feature The Sophisticated Singers, a collective quartet that brings back the sounds of the old big band vocal groups like The Modernaires and The Pied Pipers.
