Talent Spotlight: Erin Rossi
Erin Rossi is our newest Talent Spotlight!
Erin joined the Cleveland Music Group staff in 2013 but has been a part of our talent roster since 1999. Formerly a vocalist for both TCB and The Edge, Erin’s entertainment experience combined with her background in sales and consulting make her the perfect fit for our clients.
She is currently a part of one of our most popular wedding bands, The Element, as well as acoustic duo, Rossi & Romano. Her singing voice has been described as “liquid gold” (see The Element reviews!), and her charisma on the mic is unmatched. Read more below and learn why we love having her in our CMG family!
Q & A with Erin
Q: What is your favorite part about being a singer?
I’ve been singing since I could talk. Singing is my favorite thing and makes me so happy! I love music; I love all kinds of music.
Q: If you could perform at any venue, where would it be?
The Apollo Theater in NYC. I always wanted to be on the Apollo Show for Amateur Night!
Q: What is one (or some) of your favorite songs to perform?
It depends on what kind of mood I’m in and the audience. I love singing “Whole Lotta Love” from Led Zeppelin, or “At Last” from Etta James, or some blues!
Q: What is your favorite part of a wedding reception?
It’s a happy occasion which makes it so much fun! I enjoy commanding a room of 100-400 guests and then having them all celebrate and get moved by the music we play in The Element band. I enjoy the MC part of the reception, but once the formalities are over, it’s time to have a great time. Me and the band try to get everyone involved. It’s not about us, it’s about the couple and their guests.
Q: What’s your most memorable experience at an event?
I’ve had a lot of memorable events, but a when a bride or a groom get up and perform with the band, it heightens the night. The bride or groom become the Rock Star! We’ve had a few weddings where the spouse dedicates and sings a special song to their husband or wife, it’s the cutest thing, and they sound wonderful! We’ve had a Father Daughter dance, the song they danced to, her dad sung and recorded the song as a surprise. It was a song he used to sing to her as a child (tear jerker to say the least). And we’ve had a father of the bride do a welcome speech. He didn’t want to talk live knowing he’d cry, so he had the speech recorded. When I played the speech, it was a recording from an actor who sounded just like Morgan Freeman (the brides dad’s favorite actor). Everyone loved it!
